THE FRIENDS OF THE COTTAGE MUSEUM
The Friends Group was launched at a public meeting on 28th July 2006.
The Cottage Museum is about to embark on a development programme that will see a refurbishment of the bungalow and bring the currently dilapidated sheds into a state where they can be used as work space, toilets and a meeting room. The Directors feel that these developments will enable the Museum to represent more fully the life and culture of Woodhall Spa and its locality. As a part of the development programme the Directors believe that the Friends Group will bring closer links with the community that they serve and are proud to be a part of.
Members of the Group can, if they so wish, become involved in Museum life in a number of ways, fund raising, the development of exhibits, representing the museum at outside events, helping Directors catalogue photographs and artefacts, greeting members of the public or developing educational opportunities. There will also be social and cultural events including visits to other museums and enjoyable activities, centred in the museum, to be arranged. None of this is compulsory, members do not have to give more of their time than they wish.
Members of the Group will be asked for a small annual donation, and will receive in return, free entry to the museum (on production of a valid membership card) and newsletters published by the Group.
